Legendary Pokémon Yveltal will soon be making its Pokémon GO debut with the Luminous Legends Y event, during which, Dark-type Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild, and Pancham will be hatching from Strange Eggs.
The event will be split up into two parts and have different features. With the Yveltal’s arrival, Team GO Rocket will be particularly active. Aside from taking over more PokéStops, Team GO Rocket Grunts will have even more shadow Pokémon and according to Niantic, even multiple Grunts may challenge you at once.
During the second week of the Luminous Legends Y event, a long-awaited Fairy-type evolution of Eevee, Sylveon will be making its Pokémon GO debut. The fan-favorite Intertwining Pokémon was first discovered in the Kalos region. Sylveon is the only so-called Eeveelution that wasn’t available in Pokémon GO, until now.
The first part of the Luminous Legends Y
event will last from Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, May 24,
2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
At the start of the event, Yveltal, the Destruction Pokémon will make its Pokémon GO debut in five-star raids. First discovered in the Kalos region, this Dark- and Flying-type Legendary Pokémon is known to absorb the life force of living creatures. Yveltal will remain in five-star raids for the duration of the event.
Starting from May 18, Pancham will be hatching from Strange Eggs. Another Pokémon hatching from the 12km Strange Eggs rescued from Team GO Rocket during the event and afterward will include Qwilfish, Larvitar, Absol, Skorupi, Sandile, Scraggy, Pawniard, Vullaby, and Deino.
During the event, 7km Eggs will hatch Alolan Rattata, Alolan Meowth, Alolan Grimer, Sneasel, Poochyena, Stunky, and Purrloin.
Dark-type Pokémon such as Houndour, Carvanha, and more will be appearing more frequently in the wild. Some new Pokémon, such as Spritzee, Swirlix, and Goomy, that debuted during the Luminous Legends X event will be returning and appearing in the wild.
The Team GO Rocket–themed Timed Research will lead to encounters with Dark-type Pokémon like Galarian Zigzagoon. Event-exclusive Field Research tasks will lead to encounters with Dark-type Pokémon, including Galarian Zigzagoon, Scraggy, and more.
During the event, Trainers will be able to use a Charged TM to change the Charged Attack Frustration on Shadow Pokémon.
For the second half of the event, Trainers can unlock some exciting bonus rewards by working together.
From Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, May 23, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. UTC, you can work together with other Trainers worldwide to defeat 25 million Team GO Rocket Grunts in total.
If the goal is met, additional special bonuses will be available from Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, May 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
The bonuses include a 3× Catch XP bonus for the rest of the event and the debut of a Shiny Galarian Zigzagoon, which will remain available after the event concludes. As well as Galarian Zigzagoon appearing in one-star raids for the rest of the event.
Regardless of whether those rewards are
unlocked, Trainers all around the world can look forward to the following
during the second week of Luminous Legends Y.
Part 2 of the Luminous Legends Y will take place from Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, May 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
During the second half of the event, Sylveon, the Intertwining Pokémon will be making its Pokémon GO debut. Trainers will be able to evolve their Eevee into Sylveon by earning hearts when it’s your buddy.
With some Dark-type Pokémon featured in part 1 of the event still being around, Trainers can look forward to more Eevee, Ralts, Spritzee, Swirlix, and others appearing more often in the wild.
The 7 km Eggs will hatch Eevee, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi, Azurill, Spritzee, and Swirlix. Eevee’s Evolutions, such as Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, and Umbreon will be appearing in three-star raids.
Event-exclusive Field Research tasks will lead to encounters with Eevee, some of Eevee’s Evolutions, and more. Event-exclusive AR Mapping tasks will reward Poffins to help Trainers get more hearts with their buddies. Additionally, Sylveon-inspired avatar items will be available in the shop.
The two-part Luminous Legends Y event comes
after the Luminous Legends X, during which the Life Pokémon, Legendary Xerneas
made its Pokémon GO debut, along with some Pokémon from the Kalos region. The
two events are named after the sixth generation of the main Pokémon video game
