Goomy, Spritzee and Swirlix all made their Pokémon GO debut in the current Luminous Legends X event in Pokémon GO. The three Pokémon, all hailing from the Kalos region have different evolution requirements.
Legendary Xerneas, the Life Pokémon, also debuted with the event. Until Monday, May 17, at 8:00 PM local time, Dragon- and Fairy-types will be spawning in the wild.
In addition to the three new Pokémon, Clefairy,
Dratini, Dragonair, Snubbull, Ralts, Bagon, and Cottonee are spawning in the
wild.
Goomy, the rarest of the three new Pokémon, has two more ‘mons in its evolutionary line – Sliggoo and Goodra.
Unfortunately, Goomy is only obtainable as a wild encounter. As of now, there’s no way to hatch or get research encounters with Goomy, making it the rarest Generation 6 Pokémon introduced as a part of the event.
If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on a Goomy and have enough candies to evolve it to Sliggoo and finally into Goodra, there’s still one extra condition to keep in mind.
Evolution from Sliggoo to Goodra requires a rainy in-game weather, or proximity to the new Rainy Lure Module.
The newly introduced Rainy Lure Module attracts Water-, Bug- and Electric-type Pokémon for 30 minutes. Proximity to this lure module, will also help you evolve Sliggoo to its final form Goodra.
The evolution still requires a hefty 100
Goomy Candies, but once you have enough, rainy weather or the Rainy Lure Module
will allow you to get Goomy’s final evolution.
If rainy weather is rare in your local area, you will definitely need the Rainy Lure Module to get the new Dragon-type. Luckily, the new lure module is available in the shop for 200 PokéCoins.
Additionally, during the current Luminous
Legends X event, an exclusive Timed Research will be available. If you make it
to the final stage of the research, you will be rewarded with the Rainy Lure
Module.
Spritzee, the Perfume Pokémon, a Fairy-type from the Kalos region also made its Pokémon GO debut with the Luminous Legends X event.
Unlike Goomy, Spritzee only has one evolution, Aromatisse and requires 50 Spritzee Candy to evolve. However, even if you accrue enough Candies, Pokémon Go will tell you that you must “adventure together to evolve.”
Getting Spritzee Candies shouldn’t pose a great challenge. During the event, the new Pokémon is available in the wild, can be hatched from 7km eggs and is a reward in the field research tasks – “Catch 10 Fairy-type Pokémon” and “Use 7 Berries to help catch Pokémon”. For both tasks, the reward can also be a Swirlix.
To evolve Spritzee, in addition to the 50 Candy requirement, you will have to use an Incense. Once you have your Incense activated, you will be able to evolve the new Fairy-type Pokémon.
As the Incense is one of the premium items
in the game, it is wise to wait until you have time to use the Incense to catch
Pokémon and not waste it on simply evolving Spritzee.
Swirlix, the Cotton Candy Pokémon is also a Fairy-type coming from the Kalos region. Like Spritzee, this Pokémon also has only one evolution – Slurpuff, the Meringue Pokémon.
To get Slurpuff, you will need 50 Swirlix Candies. You can stack up on the Candy during the Luminous Legends X event by finding Swirlix in the wild, hatch it from 7km eggs and earn an encounter by completing the “Catch 10 Fairy-type Pokémon” and “Use 7 Berries to help catch Pokémon” research tasks. For both tasks, the reward can also be a Spritzee.
Once you have your Swirlix and 50 Candies, there’s an additional requirement to evolve it into Slurpuff. You can unlock the evolution by making your desired Swirlix your buddy and feeding it 25 treats.
Make sure to take advantage of the ongoing event
and get enough candies for the evolutions of the three new Pokémon. There is
still a week ahead before the Luminous Legends X event comes to a close on May
17.
